Approximately 80 members, guests and prospective members attended the Lee/Collier General Membership Meeting held at Pelican Preserve on Thursday, May 3 to hear Syd Kitson, CEO of Kitson & Partners, inform the group about the current status of plans to develop a small portion (19,000 acres of the total 91,000 acres of Babcock Ranch. 72,000 acres were sold to the State of Florida for $350 million to remain as a preserve on the Lee/Charlotte Counties’) border. Mr. Kitson explained the hoops and hurdles required to build on the 19,000 acres and also explained his vision of what Babcock Ranch will look like when completed.
