2007 ABC Member of the Year: Ron Cox

The Florida Gulf Coast Chapter’s "Member of the Year" award for 2007 went to an individual who personifies commitment. Ron Cox has been actively involved in association for over a decade. He is a truly believer in giving back to the industry which has made him a successful business leader. He is the man that President Theodore Roosevelt described in his famous quote, “Every man owes a part of his time and money to the business he is engaged. No man has a moral right to withhold his support from an organization that is striving to improve conditions within his sphere”. Ron Cox is a true craft professional in his own trade; he started as an apprentice working for an ABC member. Worked is way to foreman, supervisor and owner of his own company…The American Dream!

2008 Construction Outlook

The greater Tampa Bay Area economic forecast for construction activity this year aligns with trends predicted around the country. Cliff Brewis, an economist who directs editorial content for McGraw-Hill Construction, delivered to a crowd of 176 Associated Builders & Contractor members gathered in Tampa last Tuesday. His talk, "Outlook 2008," forecasted the U.S. construction industry's areas of growth and decline.

ABC Holiday Dinner & Dance

Outstanding HCC Alumni Awards

Hillsborough Community College recognized 40 graduates for exceptional professional leadership, outstanding contributions to the community, and a positive influence in the growth and development of Hillsborough Community College. Steve Cona Jr. (ABC Chapter President) and Carol Scheafnocker (Chief Marketing Officer, Hamilton Engineering & Surveying) were two of the 40 recognized by the college. ABC members Matthews Construction (Main Sponsor) & James-Rivard Buick Pontiac GMC (Table Sponsor) helped to sponsor this great event.

ABC's Lee/Collier Members Celebrate The Holidays

Lee/Collier ABC members and their guests as well as staff ushered in the holiday season in style. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages were served.
